VERONICA MALONE
Veronica Malone was initiated into our illustrious organization in the Spring of 2002 via Zeta Kappa Chapter while majoring in Finance at Long Island University. She is currently pursuing her M.B.A. in Healthcare Management at Monore College. During the 2009 Atlantic Regional Conference held in Baltimore, MD, Veronica was awarded the Arizona C. Stemons Scholarship. Her spirit is well appreciated in Kappa Epsilon Zeta and it is illustrated in her work. Upon transferring into KEZ, Veronica immediately joined various committees such as Membership, Z-HOPE, KEZ 30th, and Cotillion 2010. She currently holds the positions of 2nd Vice-President and Retention Chair. You can also rely on Veronica to put her heart into everything she does and it is that same zeal she exhibits that makes her a true example of Finer Womanhood. Congrats!
CHRISTINE "Simone" CAVE
Christine Cave was initiated into our illustrious organization in the Fall of 2004 via Rho Xi Chapter in Binghamton, NY. Upon graduation, Christine transferred to KEZ in March of 2009 where she immediately joined the Membership, ZHOPE and KEZ 30th committees.
After working for YAI- National Institute for People with Disabilities as a weekend counselor for two years, Christine was recently promoted to a full time position as a Morning Medical Counselor as of November 16th, 2009. She is now responsible for maintaining the medical needs (organizing appointments with physicians, administering medication, and upkeep of medical paperwork) for the consumers of the group home that she works in. Additionally, on November 7th, 2009 she was awarded for “Excellent Planning in Recreation Trips” while being a weekend counselor for organizing weekend recreational activities for the residents.
ALISON NICOLE SPOONER
A. Nicole Spooner was inititated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in the Spring of 2000 via Theta Alpha Chapter in Boston, MA. She graduated from MIT with a degree in Chemistry, minoring in French. After leaving MIT, Spooner attended Northeastern Unviersity School of Law. After graduation from law school and a federal clerkship, she was a tax attorney at the law firm of Proskauer Rose in NYC. Spooner presented at Proskauer’s Annual Tax Exempt Seminar on October 30, 2009 where she spoke about prudent investment management practices for charities in the wake of Madoff and other Ponzi schemes to management at charities.
A. Nicole Spooner is now Editor and contributor to the first Proskauer Not-for-Profit/Exempt Organizations Blog, launched on Thursday, November 19, 2009. The ONLY associate to be named Editor.
On Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, Spooner began a new journey as the Associate General Counsel for The New York Community Trust and works on legal issues affecting The Trust, including charitable contributions, donor-advised funds, governance, unrelated business income tax, grantmaking, joint ventures, and lobbying matters.
She is also Founding Director, Access Caribbean Assistance Fund (“ACAF”), a not-for-profit organization focused on providing health and education assistance to indigent individuals in the Caribbean. ACAF was formed on Thursday, November 19, 2009.
Spooner was the 2008 and 2009 recipient of The Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono Publico Award for outstanding legal service to the Society’s clients. She is able to practice law in the states of New York and Massachusetts.
